Fourth of July Weekend
My fourth of July weekend, was a real adventure. As I fought my way through traffic on the 2nd on I465 due to stupid construction...I did finally make it to my destination of Chicago. On the day of the 4th, we took the train from the suburb to the city where we attended the Taste of Chicago event, pretty pricey but fun to try different foods and see all the different vendors. We shared a funnel cake with icecream and chocolate syrup it was intensely delicious! Unfortunately most of that day was rainy, however towards the evening about 7pm or so...the rain cleared up and it was a nice evening we went down to the navy pier and got to watch some beautiful fireworks. Aftwards we had to push and shove to get out of there and race to make it back to the train station on time. What a great experience. On Sunday, we took a little road trip out to Milwaukee, WI... there was a lot going on there. It was the last day of Summerfest 09 and there were hundreds of people there. We went out there because we had tickets to see the LynardSkynard and KidRock concert. The show was pretty good, but Kid Rock is not as hardcore as he use to be when I saw him years ago.
